Meadowlark House Moves to New Location

Since 1999, the Meadowlark House Child Advocacy Center has served the children of Dodge City and surrounding areas.  In the past 10 years, we have seen our numbers increase from 55 children to 80 last year and the growth shows no signs of stopping.  Because of this increased need, we have moved into a new, larger space.

Our new space will feature a playroom for the children and separate meeting space for our advocates to meet with families.  The new space also provides a comfortable space for interviewing our kids.

This move also provides an office for future growth.  The plan is to fill the office with a part-time therapist in the next year to serve our kids with the highest level of trauma-focused therapy services to aid in their healing and recovery.

A big thank you goes out to all of the people who came to paint and to the Dodge City Police Department as they helped on the day of the move.  Without the support of our Meadowlark Team and our community, we could not continue to provide such a wonderful place to begin the journey of healing.

We are still putting the finishing touches on our new location.  Thanks to the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas for the grant to help us purchase new furnishings for our space.  They are coming soon.

The Meadowlark House interviewed their first child in 1999 and has been a nationally accredited child advocacy center since 2002.  If you would like to visit our new space or learn more, please call to schedule a tour at 620-789-0396.
